Thank you for your interest in the Miami Valley Adult Baseball League (MVABL). Established in 1995 and operating as a registered nonprofit organization since 2020, the MVABL is recognized by both the State of Ohio and the U.S. Government as a 501(c)(3) entity.
Now entering its 32nd season, the MVABL has become a longstanding part of the Dayton baseball community. The league was founded to give adults ages 18 and older the opportunity to continue playing competitive, full-field baseball as an alternative to softball. Our players range from former and current college, minor league, and independent league athletes to everyday individuals balancing careers and families, all united by a passion for the game and the chance to relive the experience of playing real baseball.
League fees are $315 per player and include a 30+ game schedule, field usage, baseballs, umpires, insurance, and entry into the postseason tournament. Uniform costs are not included and vary by team.
The season typically begins the week after Easter and runs through September, with playoffs concluding by late September. In cases of excessive rainouts, the regular season may extend accordingly. Teams primarily play on Sundays, with game times ranging from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Each team will also have a limited number of weekday night games, typically scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Sunday games are 9 innings (except doubleheaders), while weekday games are 7 innings.
While the league is competitive, maintaining a respectful and sportsmanlike environment is a core expectation. All participants are held to a standard of conduct, and violations of league rules or code of behavior may result in suspension, fines, or removal from the league at the discretion of the Commissioner.
If you are interested in joining the MVABL as a player, coach, or team representative, please contact the league board for additional information.
